What’s in the name….FIREFALL?

In 2013, I saw a beautiful lake through the trees of my great great grandfather’s farm which I had inherited and having been there one time for a devotion and bonfire, I knew the Pierce family owned it. It was a l o n g several year process of praying, contacting by Facebook messenger and at last receiving the gift of 160 acres of beautiful land for ministry by Ben Pierce and his sister Mary Pierce Jones in memory of their parents, Corinne and Benjamin Pierce.

The deed was transferred to Crossroads Prayer Retreat 501c3 in October 2018. Amish cabins had already been started and by 2020 were ready for guests. A large Barn for worship was begun in October 2019. It doubled in size from the original instructions and work was suspended by the fire marshal’s office in February 2020 just before the Covid outbreak.

Miracle after miracle happened to receive donated architectural plans, MPE Engineering plans, doors, windows, structural beams and we finally gained approval to continue. Small groups and large outdoor groups have been experiencing God’s power all this time.

In November 2023, a prophet from S. Africa was preaching nearby and there was a need of accommodations for her and her driver. Many blessings and powerful words were spoken on the grounds and at the nearby revival. During worship, I clearly heard “Change the name of the prayer retreat to Firefall Farm!” My first thought was, “That’s odd.” Later that same night, the prophet’s driver asked me if I had ever considered changing the name of the prayer retreat. My eyes got wide and I said that I hadn’t —not before tonight!

The board of Directors gave wholehearted approval to the name change. New life, joy and the convergence of volunteers, givers and prayers is happening! Firefall Farm will continue to be a place where anyone can come to rest, heal and hear the Lord’s voice, but there is so much more!

The world we live in is changing rapidly. People need hope, deep healing and the FIRE of the Holy Spirit to thrive . The presence of God is where we all need to be. Firefall Farm will draw those seeking the MORE from all over the region and the world! The world needs JESUS!

We are in process of legally changing the name. For now, any checks must be made to Crossroads Prayer Retreat. You may also give through our new online link with a credit card. They do charge a fee for credit cards, but it will go directly into the ministry account at Cadence Bank. We will update as soon as the new name change is official.

I had no idea that the Firefall is actually a phenomenon at Yosemite National Park where the sun shines on the mountains in a certain way that appears to be a “fire” waterfall. If we seek Him with our whole hearts, we will find Him. Seek the power and fire of the Holy Spirit…. Fire fall down on us…. Ginger Jones Holland, Director
